The story behind the picture:
Some time when we are on Life’s greatest adventures, we have to venture through the valley of shadows. Thats when we usually feel like what am I doing here, I can’t do this. and we find ourselves on our knees calling out to God to help us. These trip through the valley of shadows can be as short as maybe 30 minutes to an hour or as long as weeks, months and yes even years. I have been going through one of those valleys for the last few weeks. I have been struggling to keep my focus on God and his directions. Alot of time when I get to this point I turn to the two things that help me redirect my attention towards God, My artwork and music. So that’s what I did.
I have had this picture done for awhile, but never went any further till now. The last few days I have been listening to this young lady (Anne Wilson) who has a very dynamic voice and a very strong love for Christ. The first song I ever heard her sing was her song “Strong”. Thats when it hit me, this is the title I was looking for. But, that was not all that hit me about this song. This song was just what I really needed to hear to help me get through this ruff few weeks and keep my focus on Christ. So, it became my cry to God. The Chorus say it all
I hit my knees with my hands held high

Where ever we are on our journey, we all go through the valley of shadows and so many times, we all feel like we can’t make it alone and we can't. That’s when God works at his best Thats when God moves in us and when we can see his great love for us. So when you find yourself in the valley of shadows and you feel so alone and the tears start to come, and they will, just call out to God, he is there and he hears you. And, I promise He will answer you.
Before I close, I want to tell you Anne Wilson has other songs I have been listening to and I have a bunch of new ideas for new art work, that I want to do. Love the art Eric is good stuff! Been through the valley for years now, but thank God it's not as intense as it once was. I still have days when the battle is all to real but a few days here and there is so much better than daily!
